Activities
Principal activities include staff assistance and formulating recommendations to the City Council, Planning Board, Zoning Board of Review, City Centre Warwick and maintenance of the City’s Comprehensive Plan. The Department acts in consultation with the Mayor in formulating the City’s Capital Improvements Program. The Department is also responsible for the administration of such duties as may be assigned by the Mayor or prescribed by City Council Ordinance.
The activities of the Planning Department include:
- Regulatory Review

- Coordination of RIDOT highway projects including the preparation of the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) submission to the Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC)
